If you are an avid youtube watcher like me you have probably stumbled upon the channel Tested. This is a youtube channel that focus on “makers” people who make things. This can be simple model building or full on VFX and everything in between. Adam Savage, from Mythbusters, leads this channel with a a whole team and they produces some cool stuff. As a fly tyer I definitely consider myself a maker. That all being said they do a video series called “”blank’s favorite things from 2025″ and each of the team members put together their favorite things from the past year. I think they use this to shout out smaller makers and content creators and to help people find things for Christmas Gifts. I have learned about so many things from this and you would be surprised how much can be transferred over into fly tying or fly fishing.
So in the spirit of Tested’s videos I wanted to do the same. So below are the two videos I did where I talk about my favorite fly tying items from 2025 (at least new to me in 2025) and my favorite fly fishing things from 2025. I don’t have the reach or the retail incentive so that’s why they came out at the end of December/beginning of January. Please let me know if you have some favorite things I should try in 2026 and let me know if you have used anything I mentioned in the videos and what you think. I can also do a more in depth review of any of the items and I already have some ideas!
